Who Qualifies for Membership in IDAA?

IDAA is a worldwide fellowship of recovering healthcare professionals and their loved ones. Membership is open to physicians, dentists, psychologists, veterinarians, pharmacists, other doctoral-level healthcare providers, certified registered nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists, physician assistants, students working toward these professional qualifications, and family members and/or significant others of healthcare providers. The only other requirement is the member's desire to achieve and maintain recovery.

Full membership includes access to the Members Only Portal, including meeting listings, Community Bulletin Board, archives, and both in-person and virtual meetings. The Members Only Portal is constantly evolving and providing new content to members.

IDAA aims to achieve financial inclusivity for eligible individuals aspiring to join as members. Financial assistance is provided through donations received by the organization and is accessible to those experiencing financial challenges. For support, please reach out to Executive@IDAA.org via email.

Doctoral (or Equivalent) Member

IDAA membership is for those who are qualified healthcare professionals with a doctoral or doctoral-level equivalent degree from the below list. At this time, Masters level degrees, nurses, hygienists, and counselors do not qualify.

Choose this member type if you are a student actively studying for one of the degrees listed below:

*Student memberships are only available for a maximum of 4 years. Confirmation of program enrollment may be requested initially and at renewal.

Counterpart Member

Reduced-rate IDAA membership to add a spouse, significant others, or partner residing in the same household as a current member. 

Details:

  • Limit: One counterpart membership per member 
  • Active Status: The counterpart membership depends on the primary member maintaining active status. If the member’s membership expires, the counterpart membership will also end. 
  • If you're using a shared computer, please ensure that the current IDAA member is logged out of their account. Otherwise, the link to purchase this membership will redirect you to the current IDAA member's compass instead.
  • Note: This membership does not replace the IDAA Family Recovery Membership. A paid full membership is required to add a counterpart membership.
